Find the handoff

A useful integration begins with a moment in someone’s day. A sales lead becomes a customer. An order needs fulfilment. A request moves to a specialist. Map that moment and identify who needs what information before deciding how the systems should connect.

Decide which system owns the record

When two tools can change the same information, the team needs a clear rule for which one is authoritative. Write that rule down with the people who operate the process. It is much easier to resolve a disagreement in a workflow diagram than in a customer record after launch.

Plan the interrupted journey

Connections fail, credentials change, and records arrive without every required field. Make these conditions visible to the team responsible for them. Agree how a task can be retried or completed manually without accidentally creating a second action.

Give the operation an owner

A working connection still needs someone to understand its status, permissions, and ongoing changes. Include a short operational guide in the handover. The goal is to make the work easier to run, not simply to connect two logos on a diagram.
